There’s a lot of waste in how we make, use and dispose of clothes. CSIRO is looking for ideas to make fibre and materials more sustainable, and build a recycling, environmentally friendly, circular fibre industry.

Circular fibres pitchathon, invitation to participateOpen to high school, TAFE and university undergrads we are challenging the next generation of STEM talent in Australia to explore and invent new fibre and textile solutions. In a 3-minute pitch video, we want to hear your ideas for:

  • Lessons from First Nations
  • Redesigning fibres
  • Tracking fibre lifecycles, or
  • Fibre waste

To find out more, check out the Threads + Opportunities page and scroll down to the circular fibres pitchathon section. There is “brief” with details and guidance, and an on-line application form. There’s no entry fee for the pitchathon, and you could share in $2,000 of prize money!

Pitch Videos are due Monday 2 May 2022 at 11:59 PM AEST.
